OneNote comes with many useful tags, which you can apply, not just to pages, but to any paragraph or object.
Tagged content can give you visual cues, by adding an icon or changing a colour. It can identify the type of text, a to-do, a comment, etc. And through a “Tags Summary” feature tags can be searched and a report page made of them. Tags are customizable and the tagging system can even be used for coding.
Using too many tags and too specific usually ends up in mess. What works best for project management, analytical and collaborative work is a simplified, shareable, but identifiable set of tags. After many trials we have developed a simplified but effective, customised tagging system which allows you to work better with your research notebook.
